Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka face off today (Sat., May 1, 2021) in a main event Light Heavyweight clash from UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC Vegas 25. Reyes enters in the strange situation of having very arguably defeated Jon Jones before immediately getting plastered by Jan Blachowicz. That’s a rather odd way to lose consecutive fights, putting some real pressure on Reyes to bounce back. On the other hand, Prochazka’s UFC debut went about as well as possible, as the Czech striker scored a tremendous knockout to immediately inject himself into the title mix.

Round One
Prochazka lands a quick right, but Reyes answers with some hard kicks. Prochazka keeping his hands low, scores with an awkward shifting hook. Prochazka doubles up on the right. Clean left from Reyes. Prochazka counters a Reyes kick with a heavy right hand, but Reyes calms him down with a counter right hook. Reyes takedown! Prochazka pops back up a few moments later. Three-piece combo from Prochazka stuns Reyes! Reyes’ tries to back his foe off with a left, but Prochazka is still pursuing the finish. Stiff jab from Prochazka, who then dug into the body. Clean left kick from Reyes. Prochazka keeps attacking the body, but Reyes is answering well with his left hand. Snapping kick from Prochazka, who then eats a right hook. Prochazka is showing his foe zero respect, walking his foe down with punches even when Reyes does land! Wild opening round!

Round Two
Reyes aggressive to start round two, and he lands a good left kick. Stiff jab from Prochazka. Hard left hand from Reyes, who’s doing much better. Just as I say that, Prochazka cracks him with another right hand counter to interrupt a left kick. Huge left hook from Prochazka, but he eats a backfist at the same time! Prochazka flurries, walks straight through a left hand. Step-in elbow from Prochazka. Reyes left hand wobbles Prochazka! The Czech fighter dives into a takedown and is in a deep guillotine! Prochazka escapes the submission. Reyes lands some nasty elbows and an upkick from his back. Seconds later, Prochazka drops heavy ground strikes, and Reyes escapes to his feet. Prochazka is flurrying, and OUT OF NOWHERE A SPINNING ELBOW PUTS REYES TO SLEEP!
Result: Prochazka defeats Reyes via second-round knockout
