Now that McGregor vs. Diaz is set for the main event at UFC 196, we can turn our focus to the rest of the card. UFC 196 will feature a great co-main event with Holly Holm (10-0) vs. Miesha Tate (17-5).
Holm is coming off of a upset TKO win over Ronda Rousey (12-1) at UFC 193 back in November. With Rousey sidelined due to Hollywood obligations and other PR related tours, Holm is set to face Tate at UFC 196 on March 5th for a chance to defend her bantamweight title.
However, Bleacher Report has reported that Holm’s manager believes that Rousey does not want to rematch with the champion and proposed a catchweight bout at 140 pounds with Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino.
Lenny Fresquez (Holm’s manager) says the UFC did not follow up on the proposed bout but would like the opportunity to fight the Inivcta FC fighter.
“We’d take that fight if Ronda needs more time to make up her mind.”
Holm has had numerous media tours of her own appearing on hit shows like Live! With Kelly and Michael, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and ExtraTV.
