PROS: Guida probably could’ve finished that if he wanted to.

PROS: Aldana didn’t show an immensely diverse game on the feet, but she still picked her apart and adjusted well from the back to get the nifty armbar.

STAROPOLI DECISIONS ALVES

CONS: Another long time vet lost on this card

PROS: But at least he didn’t get run over? Staropoli got the biggest win of his career. While Alves looked good at the end, Staropoli was in control for most of this fight.

VOLKANOVSKI BEATS ALDO

PROS: It wasn’t a barnburner, but Volkanovski fought smart and got a massive win. He feinted well, controlled Aldo on the fence, & was the busier fighter

CONS: Aldo didn’t look like he wanted to win. Not sure why he raised his hands & thought that he did.

CANNONIER INJURES SILVA’S LEG

PROS: Silva didn’t check leg kicks and Cannonier made him pay.

CONS: Yet another loss for Silva. That leg kick wasn’t dirty and the crowd constantly booed Cannonier for doing his job. A lot of them walked out the arena too. https://t.co/Sq2JapP7tm

ANDRADE SLAM KOs NAMAJUNAS

PROS: Well that was one of the most brutal slams in recent memory. It also had the most stakes involved, with Andrade coming back to take the belt

CONS: Namajunas looked terrific for about every minute of that, but one mistake and her reign was over.

#UFC237 OVERALL:

PROS: New champion at 115 (I wouldn’t hate a rematch), and a new top contender at 145.

CONS: Your heroes get old. Not that most weren’t predictable, but every MMA pioneer on this card lost. Brazil crowd booing Cannonier and walking out of the arena was lame.
