Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson (32-10) has his next fight, and possibly his last in the Octagon, when he meets promotion sophomore Glover Teixeira (18-2) this fall at UFC 153.

Officials with the promotion confirmed the matchup at UFC.com on Monday afternoon.

Fresh off his impressive UFC debut win over Kyle Kingsbury, explosive light heavyweight Glover Teixeira will next take on former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 153, just announced for October 13th in Brazil.

UFC 153 is expected to occur on October 13, 2012 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Jackson has been very vocal about his displeasure with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, so it’s likely that this fight will be his last inside the Octagon. ‘Rampage’ has lost his previous two matches losing a decision to Ryan Bader last February in Japan at UFC 144, and tapping out versus Jon Jones at UFC 135 in their title bout last September after the champ secured a fourth round rear-naked choke.

Teixeira, a prodigy of retired legend Chuck Liddell, carries a sixteen fight win streak into the fight which includes fifteen finishes. Teixeira will fight in front of his fellow Brazilians at the event and recently earned a quick submission finish over Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 146 last month as part of Teixeira’s Octagon debut. Of his eighteen pro-wins, eleven have come by knockout, five by submission and two by decision.
