A light heavyweight bout between former UFC division champ ‘Suga’ Rashad Evans (17-2-1) and Antônio Rogério ‘Lil Nog’ Nogueira (20-5) appears set for the upcoming Super Bowl Weekend in February.
Both fighters have reportedly verbally agreed to the fight according to an article from Brazilian news site SporTV.
The matchup is expected to take place on February 2, 2013 on the UFC’s Super Bowl Weekend pay-per-view event.
Evans hasn’t fought since this past April when he lost a unanimous decision to division champ Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 145. The defeat ended a four fight win streak for ‘Suga’ who earned victories against Phil Davis, Tito Ortiz, Quinton Jackson and Thiago Silva.
Nogueira will be out of action for over a year following a first round TKO finish of Tito Ortiz last December in Toronto at UFC 140. ‘Lil Nog’ had been scheduled to meet Alexander Gustafsson in April of this year at UFC on FUEL TV 2 but was forced out with a knee injury.
