The UFC is continuing to build their Fight Night card in Tampa this October, as a middleweight bout between Eryk Anders and Gerald Meerschaert is in the works for the event.

MMA Fighting confirmed the report with sources. UFC on ESPN+ 19 marks the promotion’s return to Tampa for the first time since 2016, with Glover Teixeira and Rashad Evans headlining the last card at the Amelie Arena.

Anders (12-4) recently rebounded off a three-fight losing streak by knocking out Vinicius Moreira in June to earn a $50,000 bonus. “Ya Boi” lost consecutive decisions to Khalil Rountree and Elias Theodorou before that win. Anders will look to make it consecutive wins against Meerschaert in Tampa, something he hasn’t done since making his UFC debut in 2017.

Meerschaert (29-11) recently fought at UFC Newark earlier this month, defeating Trevor Giles and picking up his fifth submission win in the UFC. The 31-year-old lost his last two fights before that win, dropping a close decision to Kevin Holland and being submitted by Jack Hermansson last December.

UFC on ESPN+ 19 will take place on October 12th in Tampa, Florida. A strawweight fight between former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson is expected to headline the card.
