Apparently Anthony “Showtime” Pettis won’t be going under the knife after all.

Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com is reporting that the former UFC Lightweight Champion was told on Tuesday of this week that his injured right hand will not require surgery.

Pettis last fought at this month’s UFC 206 pay-per-view in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, getting stopped by reigning interim UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway in the main event.

According to Helwani’s report, Pettis’ camp is claiming that the former UFC and WEC 155-pound champion will be taking a break for a while and upon returning to the Octagon, will be moving back up to the Lightweight division.
