Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is reportedly expected to meet Ketlen Vieira in October.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will strike while the iron is hot.

Following a TKO victory over Marion Reneau in her return to the sport after almost five years away, ‘Cupcake’ is now set to come back in October. Her opponent this time will be Ketlen Vieira in a main event spot, Combate reports.

Before her TKO of Reneau in July. Tate (19-7) was on a two-fight losing skid, with defeats to Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington, respectively in July and November of 2016. The 35-year-old’s last win prior to her return happened in March 2016, when she submitted Holly Holm to become UFC champion. She retired after losing to Pennington but returned to competition this year.

On the other side, Vieira (11-2) will try to avoid losing two in a row after a unanimous decision to Yana Kunitskaya in her last outing, back in February. The 29-year-old’s last win happened in September 2020, when she picked up a unanimous decision victory over Sijara Eubanks.

Now, Tate is expected to headline UFC Fight Night 196 against Vieira, on October 16. So far, an official venue for the show has not been announced.
