A fight between top bantamweight contenders Pedro Munhoz and Aljamain Sterling is in the works for UFC 238 on June 8th.

The news was first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN, though the UFC is yet to make an official announcement. Munhoz recently campaigned for a vacant bantamweight title fight with Marlon Moraes after T.J. Dillashaw recently relinquished the 135-pound belt, but the UFC decided to book Henry Cejudo vs. Moraes instead.

Munhoz (18-3, 1 NC) picked up the biggest win of his MMA career last month when he knocked out Cody Garbrandt at UFC 235. The win extended the Brazilian’s current UFC winning streak to three, previously picking up victories against Bryan Caraway and Brett Johns before his most recent win.

Sterling (17-3) has rebounded well after being knocked out in just 67-seconds by Moraes in December 2017 by winning three straight fights. The 29-year-old got the nod over Jimmie Rivera in February, which saw him rise to number three at bantamweight. Sterling scored an impressive submission win against Cody Stamann and a decision win against Johns before that.

UFC 238 takes place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on June 8th. The vacant bantamweight title fight between Cejudo and Moraes will headline the card.
