News is out, per a Flo Combat report, that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Gegard Mousasi was threatened with a knife by featherweight champion Conor McGregor. According to Mousasi, he and McGregor went back-and-forth in private messages after Mousasi’s post-fight press conference rant at UFC 204, including a bashing of McGregor, which quickly escalated to a serious level.

“People liked it.” said Mousasi regarding his choice words for “Notorious” earlier this month. “I just spoke the truth. Sometimes you have to say stupid sh*t before people notice you. I got a private message from Conor McGregor. He was cursing at me, the little f*ck. He was threatening me. I said ‘What are you going to do with your 50 kilos?’ The f*cker was threatening me with a knife. He knows I could beat his ass any day.”

Wow. Those are some strong allegations from Mousasi. While McGregor is known to collide with opponents verbally, and sometimes physically, he seems unlikely to threaten another fighter with anything other than his hands.

“I said some stuff that I didn’t mean,” added Mousasi. “I said ‘People don’t know who the real fighter is or not.’ Of course he’s a top fighter. English is not my first language and I just blurt stuff out sometimes. I thought it was funny that he was messaging me.”

McGregor has yet to respond and no evidence has been provided by Mousasi. Who knows where this one will go.
