According to a report, Dana White would like to talk about the finer details of how Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather could happen.
More updates concerning the much talked about boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are coming to light. According to a report from ESPN, Dana White will be waiting for the UFC champion’s baby to be born, and plans to meet with McGregor shortly after to talk about the contest.
“What (Dana White) told me is that Conor McGregor is going to have that baby in May. After the birth of his child, Dana White would like to meet with Conor McGregor in New York,” ESPN’s Brett Okamoto said.
“That’s right in between where they are,” he said. “They’ll meet in the middle, in New York, and they’ll hammer out some of the finer details of how exactly to make this fight a reality.
“No set date on that yet, but Conor is concentrated on his fatherhood coming up, but once that happens, Dana White would like to meet with him in the East Coast.”
Not much details have been revealed about the negotiations, but Jeff Mayweather has recently gone on record to say that the UFC wants 80% of McGregor’s purse. While it is unclear how true those statements are, for his part, McGregor’s camp has stated that they’ve already began training for the boxing match as if it is already a done deal.
