Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back on pay-per-view (PPV) this Sat. night (July 6, 2019) with the UFC 239: “Jones vs. Santos” mixed martial arts (MMA) event from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The promotion is helping fight fans get hyped for this weekend’s big shebang by releasing another “Countdown” special focusing on the Jon Jones vs. Thiago Santos light heavyweight title fight, as well as the championship co-main event that has Amanda Nunes defending her bantamweight title opposite ex-champion Holly Holm.
A win for Jones could have major implications in two divisions, as “Bones” has his eyes on a move to heavyweight somewhere down the line. Similarly, Nunes holds titles in two different weight classes and a win — or loss — could shake things up at featherweight, as well. Elsewhere on the card, Ben Askren looks to cement his place atop the 170-pound leaderboard by turning away welterweight veteran, Jorge Masvidal.
