An injury to Icelandic fighter Gunnar Nelson (11-0-1) has forced the undefeated welterweight out of an upcoming UFC 160 bout versus Mike ‘Quicksand’ Pyle (24-8-1).

Stepping in with just over a months to prepare will be Rick ‘The Horror’ Story (15-6).

The promotion announced the change on Twitter (@UFC) late Tuesday evening.

UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2 is expected to take place on on May 25, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout between Story and Pyle is expected to headline the FX broadcasted prelim card, remaining in the same position.

Story is 2-1 in his last three having earned a first round TKO finish last month in Montreal, stopping Quinn Mulhern at UFC 158. Prior to that ‘The Horror’ was forced to tap at UFC 153 by Demian Maia in Brazil, and Story also earned a decision over Brock Jardine at UFC on FX 4 last summer.

Pyle has won three straight and is 6-1 in his last seven bouts. ‘Quicksand’ hasn’t fought since last December at the TUF 16 Finale, where he earned a first round TKO finish of James Head. His other two victories have Pyle defeating Josh Neer by knockout at UFC on FX 3 and a TKO finish of Ricardo Funch at UFC 142.
