Talk about a shitty day at the office.

Not only did former UFC welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks, get laid to rest by fellow Octagon export, Dakota Cochrane, in the World Bare Knuckle Fighting Federation (WBKFF) co-main event back in November, his check for said loss bounced like a Wham-O Super Ball.

Can’t say we didn’t see this coming.

In the wake of getting “bent over” by his bare-knuckle boss, Hendricks has a few questions he’d like to ask WBKFF President, Bas Rutten. Specifically, what the former King of Pancrase knew about the promotion’s financial situation.

“Dude, why didn’t you tell us?” Hendricks asked during the Pull No Punches podcast. “He had to have known something. He had to have. Was he sitting here thinking along the same line as that guy? Why hasn’t he said anything? It sucks, the whole aspect of it.”

Rutten posted a lengthy Facebook explanation a few days after the show, rambling on about drug deals, frozen bank accounts, internal sabotage … it’s really quite something (read it here) and then followed that up a month later with this little gem:

“In four weeks the money will be unfrozen, if he by then didn’t pay, go ahead and be super angry, until now I would wait, I KNOW this is a nightmare, trust me I know, but let’s give him that chance. There is nothing more than me wanting the fighters to be paid.”

WBKFF owner Tomasz Stankiewicz, it should be noted, was recently imprisoned for wire fraud, so the chance of Hendricks getting any of that money back now resides in the S.O.L. Retirement Home on the corner of Tough & Break.
