Two strikes and Robert Drysdale is out.
A decorated jiu-jitsu wizard, Drysdale was released from the UFC after a positive drug test result following his first-round submission victory over Keith Berish at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale on July 6, UFC president Dana White announced today in a post-fight media scrum in Macau, China.
Drysdale had his UFC debut delayed earlier this year after he was denied a license by the Nevada Athletic Commission after testing positive for an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio in an out-of-competition test.
When the undefeated light heavyweight finally entered the UFC, he tested positive again for elevated levels of testosterone following his impressive victory over Berish. Drysdale will likely be fined and suspended by NAC, and he won’t be back inside the Octagon when his suspension is over.
