A featherweight rematch between Roberto Peralta (15-3, 1NC) and ‘Mack Da Menace’ Mackens Semerzier (6-3, 1NC) will have to wait as Peralta has been forced out of the fight due to some broken toes. The two had been scheduled to rematch at the upcoming UFC on FX 2 card.

Peralta’s manager Jeff Clark posted the news on Twitter (@jeffclarkmma) Thursday evening.

With huge disappointment @PeraltaMMA is out of UFC Australia. Looking like 2 broken toes from kicking the cage!

No word yet on whether the UFC plans on finding a new opponent, or will instead, reschedule the bout for another event. Both had been scheduled to fight in Sydney, Australia on the preliminary card of UFC on FX 2.

This was to have been a back-to-back rematch after their first meeting last November on the UFC on FOX 1 card in Anaheim, California. Their bout ended in the third round with Peralta getting the TKO finish, but the result was later ruled a “No Contest” after a review by the California State Athletic Commission showed that an accidental headbutt led to the finish.

Before the “No Contest” result, Peralta had been on an eight fight tear, earning victories with the Gladiator Challenge, Strikeforce and UFC promotions. His other Octagon bout saw him debut against Mike Lullo at UFN 25 and saw him win by unanimous decision. Before that, he made one appearance with Strikeforce where Peralta won a split decision against Hiroyuki Takaya.

Semerzier is now 1-0 (1 NC) in the UFC, having crossed over from the WEC where he went 1-3. ‘Mack Da Menace’ earned a submission win over Alex Caceres at UFN 24 last March in his Octagon debut. That was his first win in four matches, having dropped three straight in the WEC to fighters Cub Swanson, Javier Vazquez, and Deividas Taurosevi?ius.
