An injury to “TUF 14″ alumni Johnny ‘Brutal’ Bedford (18-9-1) has forced the bantamweight out of his upcoming UFC on FOX 3 bout with Canadian fighter, ‘The Ninja of Love’ Nick Denis (11-2).
Replacing Bedford at next months event will be another Canadian, and fellow “TUF 14″ fighter, Roland ‘Stunning’ Delorme (7-1).
Officials with the promotion identified the change up Wednesday.
UFC on FOX: Diaz vs. Miller (aka UFC on FOX 3) is scheduled to take place on May 5, 2012 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event is headlined by a lightweight tilt between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller.
Delorme was the last pick for Team Miller on season fourteen of “TUF” and was eliminated in the quarter-finals by TJ Dillishaw. ‘Stunning’ did win his Octagon debut though, earning a third round submission over Josh Ferguson at the shows Finale last December. The win put the Canadian back into the win column after a split decision loss in his last fight.
Denis will enter the Octagon for the second time in his career coming off a 22-second knockout finish of Joseph Sandoval last January at the UFC on FX 1 card. Denis dropped Sandoval with several standing elbows which helped him earn the “Knockout of the Night” bonus. The win was ‘The Ninja Of Love’s’ second straight victory.
