UFC women’s bantamweight star Ronda Rousey has expanded her acting career by signing a movie deal with the Lifetime network.

Ronda Rousey has joined singer Janet Jackson and tennis superstar Serena Williams in signing deals with the Lifetime network. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion has inked a three-movie deal with the American channel, according to Deadline.com.

The article states that Rousey’s movie deal will “bring stories that reflect her passions about empowerment to the screen”.

The 29-year-old Olympic medalist in Judo and UFC star has seen her popularity explode over the last couple of years, which has led to roles in movies like The Expendables 3, Furious 7, and Entourage. She is also set to star in a remake of Road House which will be out later this year.

While her acting career has continued to grow, her MMA career his its first major roadblock late last year when Holly Holm knocked her out to claim the women’s 135-pound title. Ronda is expected to return to the cage in late 2016 to fight whoever the champ is at the time. Current titleholder Miesha Tate, who Ronda has beaten twice, takes on Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 on July 9th.
