Ronda Rousey joins Standing Rock protest after Trump pushes Dakota, Keystone pipelines

Ronda Rousey is joining the fight against the controversial pipelines that Donald Trump recently signed off on.

The MMA world hasn’t seen much of Ronda Rousey following her one-sided loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. While we’re still unsure if she’s going to return to competition, the former champion is already seen fighting a different kind of fight.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order clearing the way for the controversial Dakota and Keystone XL oil pipelines. This is a move looking to overturn Obama’s 2015 decision to decline them a permit, after thousands rallied against the project for months.

People have cited environmental and ethical concerns, stating constructing a pipeline beneath the lake threatened water resources and Native American sites.

Rousey’s social media accounts haven’t been very active since her loss last December, but not only did the former champion take to Facebook to post links about the topic, she was also seen joining the protesters in Standing Rock.

In 2015, Rousey and Trump both made public statements against each other. During his campaign, Trump initially said that Rousey ‘likes’ him, which is something that the fighter promptly denied. A couple of months later, Trump took a shot at Rousey after her loss to Holly Holm.

Glad to see that @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten – not a nice person!
