For the first time ever, a women’s match will serve as the main event of WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Ronda Rousey had many firsts as an MMA fighter, and she’s continuing that trend as a pro wrestler. With just one year under her belt in a WWE ring, the promotion has announced that Rousey, along with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, will compete in the headlining bout at WrestleMania 35 on April 7th.

This is the first time that a women’s match has served as the main event of the WWE’s biggest show of the year, which goes down this year in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Rousey also competed in the first women’s match in the UFC (as the headliner) and went to garner great fame as she stormed through the 135-pound weight class. But after consecutive losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, she essentially retired from MMA and moved over to pro wrestling.

As the current Raw Women’s Champion, Rousey has recently feuded with one of the hottest acts in the company in Lynch, who calls herself “The Man”. Flair has been inserted as well due to her longstanding rivalry with Lynch (and to add some more athleticism to the match itself).

Another former UFC champion is also set to compete on at WrestleMania – Brock Lesnar. He will defend his WWE Universal belt against Seth Rollins in another featured bout on the card.
