While originally scheduled as the co-main event for UFC 182, UFC bantamweight women’s champion Ronda Rousey will instead defend her title against Cat Zingano at UFC 184. The bout will still serve as the co-main event on the new card. UFC President Dana White made the news official Wednesday with a video post on Instagram.

UFC 184 is set to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on February 28, 2015. This marks the UFC’s first return to the city and that particular venue since the canceled UFC 176. That event was to be held on August 2nd and headlined by a featherweight title clash between champion Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. Aldo vs. Mendes was moved to UFC 179 on Saturday where Aldo retained his title in a five-round decision.

UFC 182 is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is no word as to whether another fight will be added to the card after the removal of Rousey vs. Zingano.

Rousey, 10-0, last competed at UFC 175 in July where she defeated Alexis Davis in 16 seconds into the first round via TKO.

Zingano, 9-0, most recently fought on the UFC 178 main card in September where she defeated Amanda Nunes via third-round TKO stoppage.
