After all the controversy for Rousimar Palhares’ 31-second submission win over Mike Pierce, finally some good news for the Palhares family.

Rick Palhares (1-0), brother of UFC veteran “Toquinho”, made his MMA debut Friday night at Brasil Fight 7 in Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the welterweight division, submitting Vinicius Franklin (2-1) in the best fight of the night. Palhares finished the bout with an anaconda choke in the third round.

In the main event, Jorge Rodrigues (28-8) moved up two weight classes to replaced Bellator veteran Thiago Michel with two days notice against Ken Jackson (11-11-1), and needed less than four minutes to tap the Oklahoma native with a kneebar.
