Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is sending CB Dollaway into a middleweight battle against Hector Lombard at the upcoming UFC 222 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., March 3, 2018 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Not that Dollaway had much choice, since a debilitating back injury has led to a loss in muscle mass and ultimately, a return to the 185-pound division. That said, the former Ultimate Fighter is lucky to be alive after a Cleveland elevator tried to kill him.

After it failed to bump off these guys.

“There’s permanent damage,” Dollaway told MMA Fighting. “There’s no way to — it’s irreversible, essentially. I could go try to do a surgery or something, but my doctors have been like, ‘Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend it,’ because they don’t know how that’s going to turn out. So it just is what it is, you know?”

Yikes.

Dollaway (16-8) has struggled in recent years, to the tune of three straight losses, but managed to bounce back with a unanimous decision win over Ed Herman last July. It was “The Doberman’s” first fight after 18 months on the sidelines.

Lombard (34-8-1, 2 NC), meanwhile, is mired in a dreadful four-fight losing streak, one in which he was finished three times. That includes last September’s knockout loss to the unheralded Anthony Smith in Pittsburgh.
