A lightweight bout between Sam Stout and Ross Pearson is set to take place at UFC 185.
UFC Tonight announced that the fight has been confirmed by the UFC, and it will take place on March 14 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The Canada native Stout has traded wins and losses going back to 2011. In his last bout, which was contested at 170 pounds, Stout was knocked out against K.J. Noons. Now returning to lightweight, the 30-year old will look to avoid losing back-to-back fights, which last happened in 2008.
Pearson has also had a rocky road of late — though his over the last few fights is a little deceiving. The British fighter lost against Al Iaquinta this past November in Sydney, Australia (TKO), and had posted a 1-1-(1) mark before then. However, his split decision loss against Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 42 in Albuquerque last June went down as the most controversial of the year.
UFC 185 will be headlined by Anthony Pettis versus Rafael Dos Anjos for the lightweight belt, and will feature a welterweight clash between former champion Johny Hendricks against Matt Brown, as well as a heavyweight bout between Roy Nelson and Alistair Overeem.
