Streaking light heavyweight contender Thiago Santos will try to continue his 205-pound takeover against Polish veteran Jan Blachowicz at UFC on ESPN+ 3 (UFC Fight Night 145) on Feb. 23 from inside O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
The light heavyweight matchup, which will serve as the main event, was announced by UFC officials earlier today (Fri., Dec. 21, 2018).

Santos, 34, extended his current win streak to three with a knockout of Jimi Manuwa at UFC 231 earlier this month. Before that, “Marreta” finished the hard-hitting Eryk Anders via TKO back in September in his light heavyweight debut. In total, Silva has produced a 4-1 record inside of the Octagon in 2018, losing to only middleweight contender David Branch this past April. If Santos is able to get past Blachowicz this February, a 2019 title shot wouldn’t be out of the question, especially considering he already has a win over current light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith.
Blachowicz, 35, is coming off an impressive submission finish over a returning Nikita Krylov back at UFC Fight Night 136. The Polish contender has now won four straight at 205 pounds, including a decision win over the aforementioned Manuwa, and has never looked better inside of the Octagon. A victory over a red-hot Santos will position Blachowicz quite well heading into the second quarter of 2019.
