I don’t watch ice hockey, so I never heard of Alex Ovechkin or Andrei Svechnikov.

That was until Ovechkin put Svechnikov on ice — literally — with a knee-buckling knockout during the Washington Capitals loss to the Carolina Hurricanes last night in Raleigh, in what marked game three of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Washington leads the series two games to one.

Most hockey fights look more like Don Frye vs. Yoshihiro Takayama from the old PRIDE days, primarily because figure skaters with wooden checkmarks are trained to chase an Echo Dot for three periods and not to throw hands for three rounds.

Since I don’t have anything else to say about ice hockey and yet still need to hit my word count, let’s talk about Shazam. I thought it was a fun, gentle entry into the feel-good superhero movie universe, though I do hope one day we get a Shazam flick that more closely resembles the animated masterpiece with Black Adam (watch the epic fight scene here and here).

That is all.
