Lightweight fighter Shinya Aoki (32-6, 1NC) will battle for his next title when he steps into the ONE Fighting Championshp cage this April against promotion champ Kotetsu Boku (20-7-2) at the upcoming ONE FC: Kings and Champions event.

ONE FC officials announced the event and the headlining bout on Wednesday.

ONE FC: Kings and Champions is expected to take place on April 5, 2013 returning to the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore for a third event.

Aoki is 9-1 over his last ten matches with his only blemish a TKO loss to former Bellator champ Eddie Alvarez last April at Bellator 66. Aoki, the reigning DREAM champ, competed under the Japanese promotions banner on New Years Eve in a non-title bout versus Antonio McKee. Aoki would go on to win via submission (punches) in the second round of the DREAM 18 event. His last appearance in the ONE FC cage came in October at the ‘Rise of Kings’ event, finishing French fighter Arnaud Lepont by first round technical submission.

Boku won the inaugural ONE FC belt at the same October show in Singapore by stopping Brazilian opponent Zorobabel Moreira via third round TKO. The win was Boku’s second in a row, putting his record at 6-1 over his last seven matches. Before debuting for ONE FC this past fall, Boku fought in Japan at a Shooto event in July, winning a first round knockout victory over opponent Shink Kochiwa.
