Women’s bantamweight Sijara Eubanks wants to knock Bethe Correia out at UFC Mexico.
Women’s bantamweight Sijara Eubanks wants to make a statement when she meets Bethe Correia in Mexico. On her way to her fourth Octagon appearance, the ‘Sarj’ has yet to score a win that did not go to a decision, but she wants to change that track record by making quick work of ‘Pitbull’ in the country’s capital of Mexico City.
In an interview with Combate, Eubanks stated to be sick of fighting for three rounds and sees Bethe as a good opportunity to end that trend. Furthermore, Sijara believes her style matches well with Correia, which could benefit her when looking for the finish in the fight.
“Of course my styles matches well with Bethe’s,” Eubanks said. “I think I bring more weapons to the table and I have better cardio. Bethe is tought, but I’ve seen that movie before, and I see myself as a finisher. Obviously, winning is what I want right now, and I think Bethe is the ideal opponent for what I have planned for Saturday night. I’ll knock her out. It’s time to put someone out. No more decisions. I can’t take three-round fights anymore.”
In her last outing, Sijara Eubanks (4-3) dropped a unanimous decision to Aspen Ladd back in May. The loss snapped a two-fight winning streak, with unanimous decision victories over Lauren Murphy and most recently Roxanne Modafferi last November.
Now, Sijara Eubanks is expected to take on Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 159, in Mexico City, Mexico, on September 28. The card is set to be headlined by a featherweight bout between contenders Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens.
