UFC flyweight Antonina Shevchenko fought fellow 125-pound hopeful Andrea Lee at the UFC 262 pay-per-view (PPV) event last Sat. night (May 15, 2021) inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and if you were wondering what all that screaming was during their “Prelims” contest, it was Shevchenko’s older sister Valentina.

Valentina is the reigning flyweight champion and one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, so there’s nothing at stake for her when her sister fights. The emotional investment on display is all about the success (and failure) of “La Pantera,” a graduate of Dana White’s “Contender Series” back in June 2018.

Antonina was submitted by “KGB” in the second round of their UFC 262 affair.

As for Valentina, she’s fresh off her violent, second-round destruction of Jessica Andrade at UFC 261 last April, a bout that marked her seventh straight win and fourteenth finish overall. A return date and potential opponent for “Bullet” have yet to be established.
