One of the most ballsy bets you may ever see has been placed in advance to UFC on ESPN 12 later tonight (Sat., June 27, 2020) live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to sports betting guru Darren Rovell (shown below), someone placed a $37,000 bet at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on women’s strawweight Kay Hansen to defeat Jinh Yu Frey on the “Prelims” undercard. The bet would net the unknown gambler $20,000 if Hansen was able to pull out the victory.

What makes this bet even more hardcore is the fact that Hansen vs. Frey was announced less than one week ago as the promotion finalized the UFC on ESPN 12 card. Both fighters will be making their Octagon debuts and, as of now, Hansen is a -190 favorite (according to our friends over at Bet Online)

Hansen, 20, is one of the most promising young female fighters in the sport today. The California native produced a 5-3 record under the Invicta FC banner from 2017-2020 while scoring four total finishes. Hansen is coming off a unanimous decision win over Liana Pirosin back in March in which she captured consecutive victories for the first time as member of Invicta.

Frey, 35, is the former Invicta FC women’s atomweight champion and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Ashley Cummins back in February (although a failed weight cut cost her the title). The veteran fighter is 9-4 throughout her seven-year pro career and will be making her first appearance at 115 pounds.

What do you think, Maniacs? Is this a good bet? Do you have enough confidence in Hansen to slap $38K on the table?
