With TJ Dillashaw giving up his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight title due to a potential United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) violation, the division has to keep chugging along.

With UFC staging a championship fight between Flyweight king Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes for the vacant strap at the UFC 238 pay-per-view (PPV) event on June 8, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois, the promotion is adding another intriguing divisional matchup to the card.

According to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, UFC is looking at booking a fight between Aljamain Sterling an Pedro Munhoz to take place on the main card of the event.

Sterling is riding a three fight win streak and was last seen defeating Jimmie Rivera in a rather dominant win at UFC on ESPN 1 earlier this year. “Funk Master” was hoping to slide into the vacant title fight before UFC decided to go another route.

As for Munhoz, he is also the owner of three straight wins and was most recently was seen knocking out former division champion Cody Garbrandt at UFC 235 last month (see it again here). Pedro was also lobbying for a shot at the the vacant title, calling out Moraes as a dance partner. The placing of the fight on the card signify that either Sterling or Munhoz could very well slide into the main event title fight should anything happen to Moraes or Cejudo.
