Strikeforce Overeem vs Werdum Results: Chad Riggs vs Valentijn Overeem
The first fight on the main card of the Overeem vs. Werdum fight card was a heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem’s older brother Valentijn facing off against Chad Griggs.
Overeem opened the fight with an inside legkick and the fight then went to the cage and then the ground and pound from Griggs commenced and Overeem had no real defense as Griggs teed off and Griggs takes the fight officially by TKO but the replay showed that Overeem had tapped to strikes.
The official count was 29 of 44 strikes landed. Griggs moved to 3-0 in Strikeforce and 11-1 overall.
The announcers say that the promotion has been trying to get rid of Griggs, which will be hard to do after his performance tonight.
