In the second preliminary bout aired on HDNet, Joe Ray (5-1) took on Nah-Shon Burrell (5-1) in a 180lb catchweight bout.
Here is how the second round went down.
The second round started off with Burrell working his jab effectively. Ray looked to counter with some crazy punches and kicks, but there was nothing happening.
Burrell then went on to land a couple of stiff left hands to Ray’s face before going for the takedown. Ray went for another kimura as soon as the fight hit the mat, but Burrell once again worked his way out and got the side mount.
From there, Burrell landed some good punches before Ray was able to get back to his feet. Ray decided to go for a takedown of his own, but got reversed mid takdown.
Then after another quick stand up by the referee, Burrell landed a couple of nice punches before he scored another takedown. Burrell landed a few more punches before Ray went for a heel hook. Again, Burrell was able to work his way out.
Ray dove in for a single, but it was stuffed and the round was over.
