A victory over Griggs affirms a new breathe of life into Overeem’s MMA career, and with Zuffa’s ownership of both the UFC and Strikeforce, Valentijn could be given the best contract of his career.
Overeem could be given one of the stars who lost in the Grand Prix like Andrei Arlovksi or ne could be plugged into the UFC against maturing heavyweights like Stefan Struve or Dave Herman. He could also be given a big matchup against the winner of veteran Jeff Monson vs Daniel Cormier.
