Strikeforce LogoIt appears as if the Strikeforce promotion is looking to air in the United Kingdom on pay per view, according to a report from Fighters Only on Thursday.

Strikeforce is without a television carrier for their events in Britain at the moment and will now look at a ppv model for airing their shows on the island country. They have similar broadcast deals established in Australia and Japan.

It’s likely that some sort of deal will be in place before the opening round of the Strikeforce World Grand Prix heavyweight tournament in order for the promotion to achieve maximum exposure for some of their biggest stars.

In an email sent to (Fighters Only) earlier, responding to an enquiry about the UK PPV rumours, a Strikeforce executive wrote “Strikeforce will be on PPV in The UK.” That was the extent of the information provided and no carrier was specified. But the channel most likely to host the pay per view offering is Primetime, which has carried MMA pay per view events before…How much revenue the company will generate from a UK PPV is questionable but the difficulty of finding a mainstream carrier in Britain somewhat forces their hand.
