Khamzat Chimaev is the talk of the combat sports town after destroying Gerald Meerschaert at the UFC Vegas 11 event last weekend at APEX. Partly because “Borz” is outspoken on the mic but mostly because he’s left a trail of limp bodies in his wake.

Two names the multi-division wrecking ball is hoping to add to his list of victims are current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and reigning welterweight kingpin Kamaru Usman, but it doesn’t sound like “The Last Stylebender” is losing any sleep at night.

“I don’t even know the guy, I haven’t seen his fights yet,” Adesanya told Kevin Iole. “I saw the presser and he was just talking shit. He was just casting his net. Have you seen him fight? Rat lip? Meh … Tim said he fought low level competition. So he thinks I’m an easy fight … that’s interesting. I mean, everyone does this when they’re coming up, casting the net wide. Yeah, keep casting.”

The 26 year-old Chimaev, a perfect 9-0 with nine finishes, made his Octagon debut at the UFC on ESPN 13 event back in July but already has three UFC wins to his name, which may or may not be a record for the promotion (depending on who you ask).

As far as working his way up to a middleweight title shot, “Borz” still has to prove he can beat a ranked fighter (like this guy) while Adesanya handles his business against Paulo Costa in the UFC 253 pay-per-view (PPV) headliner this weekend on “Fight Island.”
