Darren Stewart scored one of the biggest wins of his career earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 8, 2020) at UFC Vegas 6 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “The Dentist” submitted power puncher Maki Pitolo with a first-round guillotine choke.
Despite Pitolo’s heavy-handed attack Stewart was able to pick his moments to score offense and put “Coconut Bombz” in trouble. “The Dentist” took advantage of his momentum and locked up a tight guillotine choke as Pitolo was attempting a takedown along the cage. Stewart cranked the choke and eventually forced the tap.

With this performance, Stewart gets back into the middleweight win column after dropping a decision to Bartosz Fabinski back in March. The English veteran has scored some solid wins throughout his career, but he hasn’t been able to string a bunch of them together. Maybe his first career submission finish will get things rolling heading into the final months of 2020.
