Talita Nogueira offered multi-fight Bellator contract

Talita Nogueira might be heading to Bellator.

The multiple time jiu-jitsu world champion, who won her six MMA fights via stoppage, is in talks with the promotion. According to sources close to the fighter, “Treta” is expected to sign a four-fight deal in the coming days.

“Treta” made her MMA debut in 2009, and fought three times in 2010, but decided to leave the sport to focus on jiu-jitsu competition. After a three-year hiatus, the grappling wizard returned with a pair of first-round submission victories in 2013.

Nogueira was hoping to sign with the UFC earlier this year, but sources said that Bellator’s offer was a better deal for her, and she would be able to compete at her original weight class instead of dropping from featherweight to bantamweight.

Strikeforce veterans Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd were the first names announced from Bellator CEO Scott Coker on Thursday, with the return of women’s MMA to the promotion, and Nogueira is expected to make her Bellator debut later this year if the deal is finalized.
