Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will continue her comeback campaign when she meets Brazilian contender Ketlen Vieira in a main event expected to headline a UFC card on Oct. 16. This is according to a report by Combate.

Tate, 35, returned from a five-year hiatus from fighting this past July to finish veteran Marion Reneau via third-round TKO (highlights HERE). “Cupcake” stepped away from UFC back in 2016 to become a mother and ended up landing a pretty powerful gig with ONE Championship. It was nice to see Tate come back to a win earlier this year, but Vieira is not going to be a cake walk. The matchup is a good test for Tate to see where she really stands at 135 pounds.

Vieira, 29, was lining herself up for a title shot two years ago before getting knocked out by Irene Aldana at UFC 245. The Brazilian contender rebounded with a dominant win over Sijara Eubanks, but she’s now coming off a loss to Yana Kunitskaya this past February. Vieira also missed weight for the fight. This is going to be a big test for her as well to see where she lines up in the bantamweight division .

What do you think? Can Tate continue her improbable comeback and earn a win over a ranked contender?
