Conor McGregor is retired again, or is he?

Well, according to Bellator welterweight Peter Queally, who trains with McGregor at SBG Ireland’s Dublin facility, it’s very likely that ‘The Notorious’ will return to the Octagon by the end of the year.

“[A fight by the end of the year] is realistic,” Queally told The Irish Mirror in a recent interview.

”He’s been struggling a little bit with a hand injury, which has been well documented in the media, so it’s hard to tell, but it’s definitely realistic that he will fight by the end of the year.

”If he wants to fight by the end of the year, he will fight by the end of the year.”

McGregor, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, hasn’t fought since his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, which marked the Irishman’s fourth UFC fight in three years. Question marks loom over McGregor’s motivation after his boxing epic with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017, which saw the Irishman pocket a whopping $30 million. McGregor, who recently turned 31, lost the fight via 10th-round TKO.

As for teammate Queally, ‘The Showstopper’ is scheduled to take on Ryan Scope at Bellator Dublin on September 27.
