Colby Covington doesn’t have too many bad things to say about Robbie Lawler, but now that “Ruthless” departed American Top Team (ATT), that makes them “rivals” in the UFC on ESPN 5 welterweight main event, scheduled for Sat., Aug. 3, 2019 inside Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Complete with a staredown-inspired event poster.

Covington (14-1) has captured six straight fights at 170 pounds and previously held the interim title. Lawler (28-13, 1 NC), meanwhile, returned to competition at UFC 235, where he may or may not have been submitted against Ben Askren.

On paper it would appear the winner gets the next crack at reigning division champion, Kamaru Usman, but that’s still up in the air with fellow top-ranked contenders, Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards, currently in the mix.

I guess we’ll find out in November.
