Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made its debut on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi last Sat. night (July 11, 2020) on ESPN+ with a stacked pay-per-view (PPV) tripleheader featuring welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who defended his 170-pound strap against late replacement Jorge Masvidal.

Prior to that five-round affair, Max Holloway fell short in his quest to recapture the featherweight crown from 145-pound kingpin Alexander Volkanovski, not long after Petr Yan stopped Jose Aldo to capture the vacant bantamweight title, previously held by the now-retired Henry Cejudo.
