Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) won’t create a 165-pound division; however, it’s more than willing to invent a “Bad Mother Fucker” belt, which is up for grabs in the UFC 244 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this November in New York City.
If Jorge Masvidal is able to defeat Nate Diaz, then “Gamebred” wants friend and fellow Floridian, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, to put the belt around his waste. Because who better to present a fake title than a former pro wrestling champion?
“TheRock, I’m telling Dana White, I want you to put it around my waist, 305 all day,” Masvidal said.
“Doing all I can to make this fight,” Johnson wrote back on Twitter. “If I can and you win, I’ll put the belt around your waist at MSG — consider it done. Already shaping up to be one of the biggest and most electrifying fights in UFC history. Can’t wait.”
I guess if Diaz wins he’ll ask Stone Cold Steve Austin to hand over the title, and if we’re lucky, deliver “stunners” to everyone from Bruce Buffer to Dana White. Though I’d probably ask Mick Foley instead, just so The Undertaker can launch him from the top of the Octagon to the announce table.
The subsequent call by Joe Rogan would be worth it.
All kidding aside, the winner of Masvidal vs. Diaz will probably be at the top of a very short list of welterweight title contenders. Now all we need is for 170-pound champion, Kamaru Usman, to get off his ass and fight.
