Dana White says Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier trilogy winner is the heavyweight greatest of all time.

Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic have a lot running on Saturday’s heavyweight title clash. Apart from completing the trilogy, it can also change their overall legacy and how people view their careers.

According to Dana White, he believes the winner would be the greatest heavyweight champion of all time in mixed martial arts. The UFC President says “there’s no debate” on that, as he goes on to… debate their place in history.

“You have some of the goofballs out there that want to try and debate it. There’s no debate. The winner of this fight is the greatest heavyweight ever in mixed martial arts, period,” White said on the pre-fight press conference. “These guys are going to end up on some Mount Rushmore somewhere. Two future hall-of-famers, two of the best to ever do it, and the greatest heavyweight champion ever.”

For what it’s worth, if Cormier wins, he not only has a shot at being seen as the heavyweight great, but with his success in two divisions, he would also be in the conversation as one of the best MMA fighters, period.

Both fighters will probably indeed be future hall-of-famers, and there also really isn’t any debate that the winner would be the greatest heavyweight in UFC history.

In MMA as a whole though, I’ll admit that Fedor Emelianenko and his historic run should also be in the conversation, especially if Saturday night doesn’t give us a definite end to the trilogy. I’d likely still favor the UFC 252 winner regardless, but I do acknowledge that there is still a conversation — or debate — to be had.
