Tommy Toehold Breaks down entire UFC 205 card

Bloody Elbow content partner, Tommy Toehold breaks down the entire UFC 205 card in his latest video.

UFC 205 is a special card for the sport’s history. The roster of bouts is indicative of what the first ever MMA event to be held at the legendary Madison Square Garden Arena should look like. Three titles are on the line, and one man, “Smokin” Conor McGregor, hopes to be the first athlete in UFC history to hold two belts in two divisions simultaneously.

Of the 13 originally scheduled fights, two were scrapped, but miraculously, all three championship contests are mercifully intact as I type this, just six hours out from the event. The electricity and excitement in these last hours before the curtain-jerkers kick the night off has created a charged atmosphere among fans and pundits—we are all waiting with baited breath for history to be made, whether that be with PPV numbers, gate numbers or Mystic Mac going back to Ireland with some extra pounds of gold in his luggage.

With such a momentous event, of course our Bloody Elbow content partner, Thomas J. Toehold, Esquire has put out a special video breakdown this week. Instead of his normal picks of five fighters, he’s encompassed the entire card from bottom to top. He even went a step further, and found a tux that would fit that massive torso and tiny, toothpick legs—a feat I imagine was nearly as impossible as having three title fights on a card with none being scrapped.

Here’s a quick transcript of one of his picks:

“My number two pick is Khabib Nurmagomedov. He is unbeaten in 23 fights, and his style is absolutely suffocating. He’s going to be scoring with big shots, takedowns, slams and all sorts of offensive for all three rounds. Khabib is a killer and a solid pick.”
