These strawweight contenders will meet again at UFC 265.

A rematch between Tecia Torres and Angela Hill has been added to UFC 265 in August.

The news was first reported by MMA DNA and later confirmed by other media outlets. Torres and Hill also acknowledged the fight being made official on their respective social media accounts. The UFC has not announced it at this time, but is expected to do so in the coming days.

Torres and Hill have shared the Octagon before when they met at UFC 188 in 2015. Torres earned a unanimous decision over Hill, which marked the first loss of her professional career. Both women went on to fight notable names in the strawweight division of the UFC and eventually solidified their high placement in the rankings.

A second meeting between Torres and Hill was inevitable and was actually scheduled for UFC 256 this past December, but did not happen as Hill was forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19. Torres remained on the card and instead met promotional newcomer Sam Hughes, who she stopped with a first-round technical knockout. It was her second straight win after going on a four-fight losing streak between 2018 and 2019.

Hill was supposed to return at UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Gane in February against Ashley Yoder in a rematch from 2017. However, a cornerman of Yoder tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was subsequently canceled on the day of the event. It was rebooked about a month later at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad, where Hill bested Yoder by split decision.

Hill expected to have another fight about two months later — this time against Amanda Ribas at UFC on ESPN: Rodriguez vs. Waterson in May — and had another fight day cancelation due to a positive COVID-19 test from her opponent. Hill and Ribas were then rebooked for UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Sakai in June, which was later canceled again due to the latter still being affected by lingering COVID-19 symptoms.

Hill continued to call for the Torres fight, and got it despite being initially denied by the “Tiny Tornado” on Twitter.

UFC 265 does not have a location or venue set at the time of this writing. A handful of fights have been added to the lineup, however, with a women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Julianna Peña featured on the card.
