Kris McCray TUF 11The Ultimate Fighting Championship has culled the latest welterweight from the herd as former “The Utlimate Fighter” season 11 finalist Kris McCray (5-1) received his walking papers this week.

His dismissal follows three straight losses in the top promotion. McCray lost the “TUF 11″ season to Court McGee at the shows finale last June. He then dropped to welterweight, dropping bouts to Carlos Eduardo Rocha by submission at UFC 122, and losing a split decision to John Hathaway just a few weeks ago at UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle.

McCray spoke to MMAWeekly.com about his release on Wednesday.

“After a fight like that it kind of sucks, but what can you do…never let it get in the hands of the judges. It was a great fight and not to take anything away from (John) Hathaway, but I wish I would have got that last fight.”

“I know I can compete at that level, I had a really good fight and a tough guy at that level. So just get back, keep fighting, and we’ll see 3, 4, 5 or 6 fights, who knows, definitely want to get back on the bike.”
