The TUF 13 Finale took place on June 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card aired live on Spike TV in the U.S., and on Rogers Sportsnet in Canada, while the entire preliminary card streamed live via the web on the promotions Facebook page.

Kingsbury and Maldonado battled it out in a light heavyweight tilt as part of the Spike TV main card. Both men were bruised and bloodied by the end of three rounds, with Kingsbury earning the nod from the judges with a score of 29-28 across the board.

Ferguson was one of three fighters to end their bouts by (T)KO on the evening, but the only one to earn the “Knockout of the Night” bonus. The TUF 13 finalist finished housemate Ramsey Nijem in the first round with a left hook, sending his opponent to the mat. Ferguson would follow it up with a few more strikes before the referee was able to jump in to stop the fight at 3:54.

With only one submission win on the entire card, Duran was a shoe in for the “Submission of the Night” bonus. Duran opened the evenings activities against Francisco Rivera in a bantamweight bout. Both men battled in a see-saw matchup for the first two rounds. Duran would finally take his opponents back in the third, securing a rear-naked choke to force the tap at 1:57 of the third to win his first UFC bout.
