The fighters who competed on April 13’s TUF 17 Finale took and passed tests for steroids and drugs, according to Nevada state athletic commission executive director Keith Kizer, who on Friday released the information to media outlets including MMA Fighting.
Kizer said all 24 fighters who competed on the card were tested.
By comparison, only six of the 24 competitors who saw action at UFC 158 — the last event for which drug test results are available — were subject to testing.
The TUF 17 Finale, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, drew 5,549 fans for a headlining match that saw Urijah Faber defeat Scott Jorgensen by rear naked choke submission, as well as The Ultimate Fighter’s title match which saw Kelvin Gastelum upset Uriah Hall.
The event also included a women’s matchup between Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate, the result of which established Zingano as the division’s top contender and awarded her a coaching slot on the next season of TUF opposite champion Ronda Rousey.
