A pair of UFC sophomore fighters will face off in Brazil this summer when TUF: Brazil season one middleweight winner Cezar ‘Wolverine’ Ferreira (5-2) takes on TUF 17′s Bristol ‘Headbussa’ Marunde (8-3) as part of UFC 163.
The top promotion confirmed the matchup on Twitter (@UFC) Friday evening along with several other bouts for upcoming summer events.
– Part 2: Rio. Vinny Magalhaes vs. Anthony Perosh, Neil Magny vs. Sergio Moraes and Clint Hester vs. Cezar Mutante at UFC 163.
UFC 163: Aldo vs. Pettis is expected to take place on August 3, 2013 at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The event will see UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo defend his title versus former WEC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis.
Ferreira won the middleweight tournament of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil as part of Team Vitor. ‘Mutante’ made his debut at UFC 147 defating Sergio Moraes for the TUF crown. He was then linked to a fight with C.B. Dollaway at UFC on FX 8 but was forced out with an injury.
Hester was a member of Team Jones and was picked second overall. ‘Headbussa’ would debut at the TUF 17 Finale opposite Bristol Marunde and would go on to win by third round knockout. The win pushed Hester’s current win streak to 4-0.
